I’d like to pen down a very sweet lila that Narasimha dev enacted just a week back. It was the second Saturday of the month (June) and as usual there was a lot of crowd at the temple because of the beautiful Narasimha abhishek.
HG SankarshanNitai Das Prabhu, a senior disciple of HH Jayapataka Swami Maharaja from Mayapur, had graced us with his presence on the day. HG SankarshanNitai Prabhu gave us a SrimadBhagavatam lecture which was simultaneously being translated into Kannada by our very dear Temple President, HG Varada Krishna Prabhu. As always, the translation was quick, neat and deft.
While the translation was going on, I was sitting directly before Their Lordships Sri Lakshmi Narasimha and was actually thinking very seriously about how I am, being a native Kannada man, also quite capable of rendering the service of translating English classes into Kannada. I was deeply pondering on those lines and was in fact thinking of later finding opportunities to do the same in forthcoming English classes.
Meanwhile, due to some urgent requirements at the temple office, Varada Krishna Prabhu was being repeatedly called upon by a few devotees at the backstage. While Prabhu was still translating, he suddenly had to leave in the middle of the class, and all of a sudden, Prabhu pointed out to me asking me to continue the translation! What an immediate reciprocation I got from Lord Narasimha for simply even desiring to render a service to Him! The response was almost instantaneous!
There I sat, almost dumb-founded by the shower of Lord Narasimha’s mercy to a soul who is even remotely interested in His service. For the rest of the class, which was for around 40 mins, I joyfully translated the class and tried my best to serve the Kannada-speaking Vaishnavas at the temple.
To add more delight, when the class was over, Varada Krishna Prabhu told me that from now on, it was going to be my routine service! How happy I was and still am!
Thank you Narasimha deva, for understanding my inner of inner desires and making it happen through your own dear children whoare none other than the most compassionate Vaishnavas of Sri Narasimha GirdhariMandir!
Jaya Jaya Sri Lakshmi Narasimha !
